Family Nurse Practitioner, Carla Joseph out of Coral Springs, FL is a voice for mental health and wellness. More specifically, her wellness brand Zula Essentials was created for women to live harmonious through the use of CBD. But wait, she told us so much more:

1. Who are you? What do you do and How long have you been in business?

My name is Carla Joseph. I am a wife, mother, entrepreneur and a board certified family nurse practitioner. I’m in love with living a purpose driven life by pursuing my passions. I am the proud founder of Zula Essentials, the premier CBD oil brand for women who want to make wellness and self care a priority. I launched Zula Essentials CBD in November 2019 and look forward to continually growing our Zula Tribe of women who are passionate about their wellness!

2. How did you end up there?

I transformed my circle. PERIOD. I literally changed the people around me and the inspiration to do something bigger than myself became front and center. I am thankful to women who I have met along my path who opened my mind to entrepreneurship. I am so grateful to all the amazing she bosses who inspire me every single day to “disrupt the scene” and go for more.

When you want differently for yourself and your family, you have to move differently and that’s exactly what I did.

3. Tell us about a challenge you have had in business and how you have overcome it?

One big challenge was getting comfortable with being on videos, speaking publicly and even doing magazine articles. I had to swallow my apprehension because I know that bringing my face and personality out would definitely elevate my brand and connect more with people. I have been invited to panel discussions and other speaking engagements and when I feel intimidated, I think of one of my favorite mottos, “Don’t wait until you are confident to show up. Show up until you’re confident.”

4. What do you believe is an important factor in success for entrepreneurs?

You absolutely have to have an abundance and growth mindset. You have to believe down to your core that you can and WILL succeed. After that, you just have to put in the work to make it happen. In addition, you MUST invest in yourself. Freebies can only get you so far. If you don’t know the ‘how’, find the ‘who’ that knows the ‘how’. In other words, you can’t figure it out on your own. If you don’t know something, find someone that does know. Invest in coaches, courses and resources to help you along your way.

5. How do you contribute to women's empowerment?

I have been fortunate to have had various speaking engagements that truly allow women to get the wisdom they need to flourish. It’s incredible when individuals come up to you after a speaking engagement or an event and tell me how much I have inspired them to pursue their dreams and new opportunities.  For example, I was a panelist for a NAACP entrepreneurial summit. It was amazing because I was able to impart practical advice from my own experiences that really resonated with the women in attendance which they can apply to their own endeavors.

6. Anything coming up you want us to know about?

Yassssss! I am working on some other endeavors in the Health and Wellness space that I am excited to bring to the community. Stay tuned!
