It's exciting to meet women who will go after their own dreams and be brave enough to stop living in a box. Tasha worked for all the "popular" big beauty businesses and decided she had a dream of her own so she started her own MUA business. We had a chance to interview her and learn much more.
1. Who are you? What do you do and How long have you been in business?
My name is Tasha Deyampert. I’m a wife, mother, and business owner. Im a makeup artist based out of Birmingham, Al. I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 10 years but I’ve been the owner of Blend Beautique a little over 5 years.
2. How did you end up there?
My passion for makeup and beauty started at the age of 14 and just flourished from there. I provided my time and talent to other well known beauty brands and I was ready for something that was my own.
3. Tell us about a challenge you have had in business and how you have overcome it?
One of the main challenges I’ve come across was dealing with the negative comments from the naysayers. The way I continuously overcome this issue is to give myself constant reinsurance that I’m destined for this, God will never fail me, and that no weapon formed against me will prosper.
4. What do you believe is an important factor in success for entrepreneurs? even if it's something you are struggling with.
Consistency is a major factor in a successful business. Even if the likes don’t add up or the people aren’t coming, you brand has to consistently be seen and be on peoples mind.
5. How do you contribute to women's
empowerment? The way I contribute to women’s empowerment is through my everyday interactions with the clientele. Building confidence through personal makeup lessons and giving words of encouragement during makeup sessions.
Anytime a client comes in feeling down or defeated they always leave uplifted and with a smile on their face.
